Chinderia is a kingdom built on slave labour. From the largest cities to the most remote farms, nearly every industry — fighting, farming, trade, pleasure — relies on the enslaved.
In Chinderian society, slaves are legally classified as property, and most citizens see their existence as a natural and necessary part of life. While some may express discomfort with the system in private, open criticism is rare and weak. There are no organised resistance groups or widespread efforts to dismantle the institution — only occasional acts of individual defiance, quickly punished or forgotten.
There are two primary classifications within the slave population:
Slaves in Chinderia are also divided by function, with caste-like subtypes that define their role and treatment. A few of the most common include:
Beasts – Gladiators bred or trained for the arena. Often massive, brutal, and battle-hardened, beasts are both violence and entertainment tools.
Flames – Pleasure slaves trained for beauty, entertainment, and pleasure.
House Slaves – Assigned to domestic work. Their treatment varies greatly depending on the house they serve.
Every slave is marked with a slave tattoo on their necks. Purebreds receive intricate, curling linework circling a design that represents their function. Freeborns have the same function-based designs but the circle that frames theirs is simple.
All aspects of slavery are strictly regulated by the Domestic Assets Trade Union (DATU)—a powerful governing body that oversees the trade, management, and documentation of slaves.
Merchants dealing in slaves must be DATU-registered, and only authorised DATU administrators can officially ink a new slave with their caste mark. DATU also controls the breeding, training, and treatment of purebreds, enforcing standards to maintain their value and compliance.
