We’re getting to the end of the year and I’m feeling it in my bones. Here are my November updates;
I found out that I’ve been nominated for the IGWA Awards in not one but two categories:
- Best Published Book – Lion of Zarall
- Best Cover – Beast of Zarall
And somehow I’ve progressed to round 3. If you’d like to support Lion and Beast in Round 3, follow me on Instagram @eddyroseauthor and I’ll announce when the voting resumes.
And just as I was having my “omg I can’t believe I’ve been nominated for stuff” moment… I went and got nominated again! My imposter syndrome is having the shock of its life. This time, I’ve been nominated for the Indie Author Awards in 4 categories;
- Best Fantasy – Lion of Zarall
- Best Non-Happy Ending – Lion of Zarall (not even offended, honestly)
- Best Short Story – A Taste of Rhythm and Courage
- Best Cover – Beast of Zarall
I’m genuinely blown away. These books were born out of pure stubbornness and a lot of late nights, and seeing them getting this kind of recognition? Wild. Voting will continue until 25th December and if you wanna support me, here’s the form.
Now, I know I’ve been a little quiet on social media this month but that’s only because I’ve been doing things in the background.
I’ve announced a few details about my next book, which I’ve temporarily named; “Project Waythorn.”
“Project Waythorn” is set in northern Chinderia, and it’s a steamy, slow-burn fantasy romance with a dark mystery, reverse age gap, and a deadly fight at an ancient arena where no one truly wins.
Malina is a ruthless, cold-hearted arena owner. Waythorn is a mysterious purebred beast who emerges from a blizzard, covered in scars and secrets. This story dives deeper into the world of Lion of Zarall and Beast of Zarall and teaches you a few things you didn’t know about the purebreds.
And here’s a teaser.

I’m having so much fun with this project, which admittedly, started as a novella and went out of control. Rightfully. And it deserves all the extra love I’m giving it. I don’t have a release date yet, but I’ve commissioned its cover and it’s looking amazing.
More details will be coming very soon. But if you want to be the first to see the cover, get ARC opportunities, and hear all the behind-the-scenes chaos as it unfolds make sure you’re signed up to my newsletter.
