I was listening to a podcast where they talked about why we love tropes so much. It just helps our brain process and digest the story a lot easier. If you’re someone who picks up a book based on the tropes alone (guilty), you’re going to want to keep reading.
Beast of Zarall leans hard into some of the most intense, emotional, and gritty tropes dark fantasy has to offer. I think we’ve already established this series is not for the faint-hearted—but if you like your fiction bloody, brutal, and filled with tension and heartbreak, you might just fall in love with BoZ.
Here’s what you can expect (without spoilers):
⚔️ Gladiators
Well, this one is obvious. Who doesn’t like gladiators, soaked in sand, sweat, and blood, fighting for their survival?
⚔️ Antihero Vibes
If you’re here for knights in shining armour, who always do the right thing, simply because it is the right thing… Well, I don’t serve that here. My characters are complex, morally grey charcoal grey, and sometimes hard to root for—but that’s what makes them human.
⚔️ PTSD Rep
If you’ve ever felt frustrated by shallow or romanticised portrayals of trauma in fiction, this one might feel different. Written by a psychologist, BoZ explores PTSD with the weight it deserves. You won’t just read about it—you’ll survive it alongside Beast.
⚔️ Owner-Slave Dynamic
We love a good power imbalance, and the owner-slave dynamic is probably the most extreme form a power-imbalance relationship can take. Beast’s struggle for agency runs deep, especially after spending his entire life without it.
⚔️ Brutal World
No one gets a soft landing here. This is a world where choices are limited, cruelty is the currency, morals are irrelevant, and compassion can get you killed. A perfect setting for morally complex characters.
⚔️ Man vs Monster (and He’s Both)
He’s been turned into a weapon—trained to kill, stripped of self. But what happens when the weapon starts thinking for himself?
⚔️ No Good Choices
Every path has a cost. Whether it’s loyalty, freedom, or survival—something always has to give.
⚔️ Found Power
What happens if the slave who spent his entire life powerless, who has no reason to save the world, is gifted the power to destroy everything?
⚔️ Blood, Rage, and Betrayal
Do we even need to unpack this? You will CHEER when Beast takes back what he lost.
⚔️ Arena Battles That Will Have You Cheering on the edge of your seat
Strategic, savage, and emotionally charged. These scenes will transport you there to the arena with Beast.

Whether you’re here for the tension, the violence, the pain, or the slow rebuild of a man who never got to be human—this book was written for you.
