Book and Series Update

I think it’s time for an update and explanations. From revisions and new releases to personal milestones and exciting plans for the future, I’ve been on quite the adventure and I thought I should give an update about what’s been happening with me and the books.

The Journey So Far

My journey with Lion of Zarall began back in 2017 when I first wrote the manuscript. I published in 2018 under my pen name, EB Rose, as the first book in the Earthome series. The initial reception was heartwarming, but as time passed, I felt there was more to be done.

In 2020, I released a second edition of Lion of Zarall, complete with a new professional cover design. The revisions and fresh look breathed new life into the story, and I was thrilled with the results. Riding on this wave of creativity, I published the second book in the series, Beast of Zarall, in 2020.

Experimentation and Hiatus

After the release of Beast of Zarall, I ventured into a bit of an experiment with A Violent Lullaby. I just wanted to see if I could nail Dark Romance. I feel like I definitely nailed the ‘Dark’ part (!). But I wanted to go back to the main story and complete the Earthome Trilogy.

Then, life threw a few curveballs my way.

A massive career change, wedding planning, COVID and all the complications caused by COVID, followed by a burn out. More recently I had the joy of welcoming a new baby, which also required time to adjust. During this period, I wrote a contemporary YA romance, which was my ‘self-care project’, meaning I just wrote it for fun, without expectation of publishing, and without due dates and daily word count goals etc. It was fun, but it kind of unexpectedly turned a bit darker than intended (oops!).

Returning to Earthome

Despite these detours, my passion for the Earthome series never waned. I absolutely love Lion and I owe it to him to finish his story.

I attempted to continue with the third book, but no matter how much I tried to plot it out, the story just wouldn’t come together. So, I decided to give discovery writing a try and see where my characters would take the story.

Big mistake.

My characters led me down a chaotic path, and I ended up scrapping the entire draft. It was a tough decision, but it taught me valuable lessons about my writing process and the importance of structure.

So I started fresh, this time with a clear plot in mind. And guess what? It’s worked!

I’ve completed the rough draft (I wouldn’t even call it the First Draft yet, it’s more like a skeleton draft) of book 3.

And I love it.

It needs a LOT of edits until I can call it a First Draft, but it’s alive, and it’s there, and it’s beautiful.

Rebranding and Relaunching

In the midst of all this, I decided it was time for a rebrand. I’ve unpublished Lion of Zarall and am currently revising it for a relaunch later this year. This new edition will feature additional scenes and new chapters, enriching the story even further. Along with the content updates, I’m changing my author name to Eddy Rose. And I’m changing the series name to Twilight of Blood to better reflect the evolving nature of my work.

Moving Forward

While I have big plans for the Twilight of Blood series and beyond, I’m committed to taking things at my own pace. Writing is a journey, and I want to enjoy every step of it without overwhelming myself. Your support and patience mean the world to me, and I’m so grateful to have you along for the ride.

Stay tuned for more updates, sneak peeks, and exciting announcements as I continue to shape and share these stories that are so close to my heart.

With love and gratitude,

Eddy
